If These Walls Could Talk: Every House Has a Story.

Featuring the Clayton Mark House at 999 Lake Road, Lake Forest,

You won't want to miss this exciting new series: “If These Walls Could Talk”, which celebrates the people and historical happenings that brought local houses to life. For our inaugural program, centennial family member Katherine Saville shares her meticulous research into her great-grandfather’s home at 999 North Lake Road, also known as the Clayton Mark House.

Join Katherine, her niece Caitlin (csavillephotography.com) and sister Connie, as they explore photographs and documents from their Mark family predecessors, as well as the ways in which the house has changed as new families have called it home.

Thanks to the generous support of Pam and David Waud, and the gracious cooperation of current owners Ron and Karena Garriques, a video (produced by Jeff Zimmerman of forcryingoutloudent.com) gives viewers a unique inside look behind the facade of this great Howard Van Doren Shaw home and a peek into the Garriques' vision for bringing it back to its original stature.

Deerpath Through the Decades: Teeing Off with Fred Jackson

Hosted by Don Pierson

5/13 @ 7pm

Take a walk down memory lane with Fred Jackson as he shares stories about Deerpath golf course from its early years to today. This conversation will be hosted by legendary sportswriter Don Pierson.

Fred retired after 43 years of service to the Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Department--spending 38 as Executive Director. Not many people have a golf tournament named in their honor and Fred, quick to point out he's glad it is not a memorial, is excited to talk about the tournament's 20 year history during this special evening of looking back and ahead.
