Beatrice Clow, age 12, interrupted a robbery in progress in the Clow family home. Having detected a noise upstairs, she entered the bedroom and caught the thief rifling through her mother’s dressing table. “And who are you?” she asked the thief before sprinting to alert the household. With the alarm sounded, the burglar hurried out the window, scrambled down his ladder, and disappeared, fortunately only making off with $25.
William Ellsworth Clow Jr. and Isabelle Mann Clow resided at 461 North Green Bay Road (pictured).
